Really? I've been sending the red tops to the labs forever! I would imagine that they'd want to check the identifiers on the red top tube. Seems to me that would be a good double check to be sure the serum belongs to the client and wasn't poured from the wrong red top. And how are we supposed to dispose of it?
they're getting other tubes with blood or blood products, it ain't gonna kill them to get these. they can toss them in their big medical waste containers. I'm not filling my sharps container with them.
besides. they'll have them to pull extra serum from when they spill the serum tube.
oh wait. THAT never happens
