Serious waste of time holding the paperwork, waste of manpower also. Really, the insurance company will not deny the application because of an unticked box anyway, the answer is there. Do the SMM QA people get the 50 cents they charge you? Sometimes they flag an exam for things that don't make sense also, then you call them and the other shift puys it through. They always seem to be under a lot of pressure.
Oddly, they deducted the 50 cents immediately - - deducted it from a check I received for previous exams. That specific exam wasn't paid until the next pay period.
They must have needed that 50 cents very quickly!
you can't expect them to pay their employees with their money. we have to pay their employees and every fifty cent penalty adds up and helps. otherwise, they might have to dip into their admin fee fund and we certainly can't have that
i really wouldn't mind penalties of that amount for these types of errors because there's at least a "punishment fits the crime" kind of balance. but i do have a problem with it being an across the board approach. every examiner, every error, every time is BS and that's what makes it a money grab.
chronic error examiners? fine, they deserve getting dinged.
examiners who rarely make mistakes? no, you let it go.
it's not like they don't have a way of knowing which camp an examiner is in. they have their vaunted ICQAR to refer to.
oh, wait. they don't want to use it for things like that. it's only supposed to be used to their benefit.

If you EVER receive a chargeback for ANY reason you need to get the company to:
1 show it to you in writing
2 have it explicitly show the reason
3 have it explicitly show that they suffered a loss
4 have it explicitly show the amount of loss
If they can't, or won't, and you don't push the issue, you might as well leave your purse open on their desk and stick a card on it that says "take all you want".
